this blessing may burn

Mercury Skuller
paper crinkles         curled edges
     rough against my fingers
mouth curves          crescent moon
         pressed in my mind
your breath              soft air
      more than i’m allowed
pencil scratch         hollow, thin
          i think in circles
(i know you will be back)
(i do not know if i’ll be)
so simple                 to say
    this blessing may burn
sweet flames          bitter tongue
       take away the ichor
cold feet                  open eyes
     don’t forget to breathe
paper crinkles         curled edges
     rough against my fingers
